Project Care <\/strong>is preparing for its November community giveaway day<\/strong>. Your help is needed! All food donations must be brought to the church basement – today<\/strong> Sunday November 17th from 10:30-11AM, only.<\/strong> For a list of donated food items<\/strong> click here<\/a>. Please be advised that only FOOD DONATIONS, from the enclosed list, will be accepted. Monetary donations can also be given directly to Sis. Chaundrea Jenkins, marked in an envelope, with food distribution on the outside of the envelope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Sunday The Giving Group<\/strong> collected adult male and female winter garments. Donations were provided to the United African Organization. The men and women were happy and greatly appreciative of the donations. Thank you to those who made a contribution! Vanessa Weatherly and Brunetta Williams.<\/p>\n\n\n

On November 3, 2024, we celebrated the 12th Pastoral Anniversary<\/strong> of our leader and shepherd, Rev. Cynthia Thomas. We had a wonderful breakfast to commemorate the celebration. The Special Events Committee<\/em> would like to thank all who assisted in making the celebration a success! Special thanks to our Chefs Ronald Ivy and Geoffrey Hillman <\/strong>who both prepared a very delightful feast. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers, presenters, members, and guests who showed up to share in the occasion. We are grateful for every person who participated in one way or another. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Call to Prayer <\/strong>every Sunday morning for our local youth ministry and the leadership and direction of the National Inspirational Youth Convention (NIYC). View the Presiding Elder Clifton McDowell’s<\/a> appeal to pray for NIYC as they plan for the next convention in 2025. Get involved and participate as we live out Psalms 78:4<\/a> and Joel 1. <\/p>\n\n\n

NIYC’s call to action<\/a><\/strong> asks that you 1.<\/strong> stay connected<\/a>, 2. <\/strong>pray and 3. <\/strong>share your suggestions and comments at niyc.org\/contact<\/strong><\/a> as they plan for the 2025 Convention. This is the time to share your innovative thoughts. Think Big! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scriptures That Encourage<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 17:20<\/strong>\u00a0– He said to them, \u201cBecause of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, \u2018Move from here to there,\u2019 and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Galatians 2:16<\/strong>\u00a0– Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebration of Life service for Mother Peggy Sheppard<\/strong>
The Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Peggy Sheppard, the wife of the late Rev. Horace Sheppard Sr., and mother of Rev. Dr. Horace Sheppard Jr., Mrs. Patricia O\u2019Hannon, Rev. Paul Sheppard, Mrs. Gwendolyn Pullman, and Rev. Kenneth Sheppard will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024. The service will be held at\u00a0New Covenant\u00a0Church\u00a0of Philadelphia<\/a> (click the church name to view).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free Covid Test <\/strong>
Americans can once again order free at-home COVID.gov\/tests<\/a> from the federal government ahead of the upcoming respiratory virus season. Four tests will be shipped free by USPS, starting September 30.
