    MLK Day is Monday, January 20th<\/strong>. The annual King Holiday Observance is a time that we celebrate, commemorate and honor the life, legacy and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The King Center leads the charge to provide education and training in Nonviolence365; while serving as the vital living memorial of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The strategic theme for 2025 is \u2018Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice, and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence365\u2032. This theme defines the 2025 King Holiday Observance events and programming while serving as a compass for all the work we will do this upcoming calendar year and beyond.  For more information on the Beloved Community Commemorative Service, live-streaming<\/a> on January 20th at 9 a.m. EST, 8:00 a.m. CST from Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. <\/strong>https:\/\/thekingcenter.org\/king-holiday-2025\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Leadership Team Meeting<\/strong> will take place following morning worship in the Lower Fellowship Hall on Sunday, March 2nd<\/strong>. Ministers, Deacons, Trustees, and Ministry Group Leaders are asked to please attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Junior Church will be on break Sunday, March 2nd<\/sup>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

    New Members group and instructors.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

    Congratulations to the four New Members that have completed the 2024 Fall\/Winter New Member Class<\/strong>. They received their certificates of completion on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Thank God for their commitment to Him, to service, and to study. Let’s continue to encourage the new members and lift them up in prayer. They are ready for Kingdom work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Women\u2019s Ministry<\/strong>: During the Langley Avenue Church of God\u2019s \u201cFORTY DAY FAST,\u201d we are encouraging the following for the \u201cFast\u201d and during the entire year of 2025. Obtain a \u201cGive It To God\u201d Box from an Usher.  The box is filled with blank slips of paper and a pen\/pencil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Write your first name only on 15 or more of the slips of paper.  Give your slip(s) to \/and receive slip(s) from Langley women before and after service on Sunday, January 6, 2025. Place the slips you receive in your Box. Each day of the Fast, select a name from your Box, say the name and pray for your fellow sister in Christ during the Fast and beyond.

    A Call to Prayer <\/strong>every Sunday morning for our local youth ministry and the leadership and direction of the National Inspirational Youth Convention (NIYC).     View the Presiding Elder Clifton McDowell\u2019s<\/a> appeal to pray for NIYC as they plan for the next convention in 2025. Get involved and participate as we live out Psalms 78:4 and Joel 1.

    NIYC\u2019s call to action<\/a><\/strong> asks that you 1.<\/strong> stay connected<\/a>, 2. <\/strong>pray and 3. <\/strong>share your suggestions and comments at niyc.org\/contact<\/strong><\/a> as they plan for the 2025 Convention.
