Today is Palm Sunday. <\/em><\/strong>It commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, where he was greeted by crowds waving palm branches and proclaiming “Hosanna”. It marks the beginning of Holy Week, leading up to Good Friday and the Easter celebration.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Workers’ Day, also known as May Day,<\/em> is a day celebrated worldwide on May 1st, commemorating the historical struggle of workers’ rights. While not a federal holiday in the United States, May Day has strong ties to Chicago, particularly the Haymarket Affair of 1886<\/em>, which is considered a key event in the history of the labor movement. You are invited to join us in solidarity with one another to march on May 1st at 11 AM in Union Park (1501 W. Randolph Street). This year, there will be a week of action: marching with a goal of 1 million people on May 1st, stopping work on May 1st, 2nd, and 5th, and boycotting companies that cave into the MAGA agenda like Goya, Miller, Target, and Walmart.
