Reflection: Surrendering Brings Victory\u00a0<\/em><\/strong> (Read 2 Kings 25:1-12)**
\nI remember watching the demolition of Market Square Arena in Indianapolis when I was a little girl. The old building held special memories for me, and it was heartbreaking to watch as it imploded.<\/p>\n

When the temple of Jerusalem was destroyed, it involved more than the physical demise of a beautifully ornate building. It was the center of worship, and its downfall was a direct result of the people’s rebellion against God. It reflected the spiritual destruction that had taken place in the hearts of God’s people. Repeated warnings to obey and repent had been ignored.<\/p>\n

Zedekiah’s refusal to surrender and obey God’s voice left him literally blinded, chained, and defeated. If we desire true freedom and victory, we too must make the choice to surrender and submit to God’s ways. Thank God for his amazing grace by which the lost can be found and the blind can see.
