In this scripture, Paul is writing to his young protégé, Timothy. He is confirming that Timothy is gifted and ready to render service in God’s Kingdom. Paul tells Timothy that he recalls the true faith that he first saw in Timothy’s grandmother Lois, and that he now witnesses it to be in Timothy.

Grandparents have a profound effect on their grandchildren. They enjoy spoiling them, and they delight in spending time with their grands!

However, the greatest gift that grandparents can give is to do whatever they can to plant the seed of the Word into those precious young souls, and to model a life dedicated to Christ.

We honor Sis. Vanessa today for exemplifying a spirit-filled and loving grandmother. We have watched her faithfully bring her grandchildren to church from the time that they were babies. She serves in several ministries, but her dedication to service as an usher paved the way for one of her grandchildren to become an usher before he was five years old! Today, we marvel at how seriously and faithfully her grandson continues to serve as a junior usher. This is a marvelous example of godly influence from a grandparent. So today, we honor you, Sis. Vanessa. Keep the light of dedicated and meaningful service to the Lord burning brightly. The grandchildren are watching.

Our beloved Sis. LouAnna Lewis has made her earthly transition. Please keep the family, friends and church community in your prayers. The funeral arrangements are pending.
And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this down: Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds follow them!” – Revelation 14:13 (NLT)

Join the email mailing list of the National Association of the Church of God (NACOG). She knows the importance of practice, especially when a competition is coming up. She tends to perform in accordance with how she has prepared.

The children of Israel had to prepare themselves to meet with God before they received the Ten Commandments. This established the standard by which God expected his people to live.

We cannot spend time in the world without it influencing our hearts and minds. The world tends to numb our spiritual sensibilities. We can become confused about God’s ways. God gave the gift of the Sabbath so that his people could refocus their lives on him and his will.
How do you prepare to meet God? What fills your thoughts the evening before worship? True worship requires us to prepare our heart, mind and will. Our worship experience is largely a reflection of our spiritual preparation.

How are you honoring God through worship?

Stay prayerful and read the following daily:
Exodus 20:8 (NIV) – “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.”

Psalm 62:11 (TPT) – “God said to me once and for all, “All the strength and power you need flows from me!”

Credits:
* Pathways Moments with God, Daily Devotional Guide, Fall 2021
Most photos are from UnSplash.

Welcome to our Weekly Virtual Worship Service Sunday, September 12, 2021 11:00 a.m. Meditation and Prayer The Heart (pre-recorded) –Deacon George Hillman Worship Music: ”Tis A Kingdom of Peace” – NACOG campmeeting- (pre-recorded) “Adoration” – Langley’s Choir – (pre-recorded) “Daily I Shall Worship Thee” – First Church of God, Columbus, Ohio, NACOG – (pre-recorded) Sermonette: “Personally Positioned,” Philippians 4:13 Speaker: Pastor Cynthia Thomas The Langley […]

[6
405,271,47,78,446,447,256,353,34
