Reflection:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is recognized as a day of service on Monday, January 18th. Dr. King would have been 92 years old and it has been 58 years after his historic “I Have a Dream” speech. His words were stirring, and filled with passion and a vision. His writings remain as relevant and inspiring today. As we honor his legacy, here are several of his quotes that celebrate his messages of equality, faith and truth. How will you celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day?
“I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made straight and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together” – MLK, Jr.
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, “What are you doing for others?”. –MLK, Jr.
“The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood.” – MLK, Jr.
Psalm 97-11 (NIV)
“Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.”
Psalm 145:18 (NKJV)
“The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth”
Stay prayerful and read the following daily:
Psalm 91
Jeremiah 30:17
Isaiah 55:12
Isaiah 66:44
