Announcements:
Memorial Day is Monday, May 26th. It is a federal holiday in the United States for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. From 1868 to 1970, it was observed on May 30. Since 1971, it is observed on the last Monday of May. We honor and remember those that have served in the Armed Forces.
We remember our former pastors that served at Langley Ave Church of God. There service to the body of Christ will not be forgotten. Today, we honor Dr. S. P. Dunn, Dr. E. J. Morris, Jr. and Drs. Noah and Carolyn Waddy-Reid. We remember our loved ones and friends that served and passed from this life in 2024. May God continue to bless, strengthen and guide us on our journey.
Success 4 Seniors!
Attention Seniors over 65 years of age! You can still sign up for the next class with Terrie Basley and the tech team. The class will help you become more familiar with how to use your cell phone, safety features and the internet. just to name a few topics. Classes will begin 15 minutes after morning worship service in the lower level of the church. Join in and bring your fully charged cell phone. Date of next class: TBD
Congratulations to our new member, young adults and seasoned members that participated in the New Member’s class. There was a total of 5 members. Certificates were handed out during the graduation held on Sunday, May 4th. Thank you to the instructors, Rev. Mario and Min. Michelle Jenkins and Rev. Evelyn Tolliver. To God Be The Glory. The Young Adult Ministry will be having another bake sale fundraiser on TODAY, May 25, 2025. Thank you for your contributions. The bake sale funds will be used to attend the National Inspirational Youth Convention (NIYC) in New Orleans, LA. https://www.niyc.org/

Attention All Ushers and Supporters! The 69th National Ushers Convention was held in Akron, Ohio on May 15-17, 2025. Arlington Church of God hosted the convention. The theme was Healing Conversations…Pathways to Unity, Ephesians 4:2-5. God’s Messengers were Rev. Dr. Charles Myricks, Jr., Jamahl Id-Deen and Rev. Robert L. Toliver. Several of Langley’s Ushers attended the convention. They reported that they enjoyed the worship services, praise and worship, workshops and the fellowship with Ushers attending from various states. Mother of the Year
Sunday, May 11th, The Langley Men’s Group presented Annie Washington with a gift and presented a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Congratulations, Sis. Annie, for exhibiting the qualities of a virtuous woman and a loving mother that enjoys serving as an Usher, Langley Women’s Ministry and the Giving Group. May the Lord continue to bless you as you bless others.
Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in May in the United States since 1949. The month is observed with media, local events, and film screenings. For more information, visit Mental Health America website.
Save the Date
Celebrate Women’s Day on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Langley Women’s Ministry will celebrate this day during the 11 a.m. worship service. Join us as we honor Christian women that have made a difference in the lives of others. The speakers will be Deacons Theresa Banks and Nathelda McGee. The theme is We are God’s Masterpiece, Ephesians 2:10. A special presentation, a group photo and fellowship will be held after the worship service. You don’t want to miss this time of celebration!
Vacation Bible School
It’s almost time for Vacation Bible School. Are you ready for a fun-filled time this summer? Join Vacation Bible School 2025 on Monday, June 23rd – Friday, June 27th. Volunteers are needed. Please see Min. Micole Jenkins.
