A Special Message To Our Pastor, Rev. Cynthia Thomas:

We are incredibly grateful for your 13 years of service, Pastor Cynthia! Your long-term commitment to the Langley Avenue Church of God, and its members, is truly inspiring. You have led us through good times and bad, offering guidance, support, and a listening ear whenever needed. You are an amazing pastor!

Your impact on our spiritual growth and well-being cannot be measured.  In Hebrews 13:17, it says “Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.”

Thank you for being a joyful and dedicated leader, always watching over us and guiding us closer to God. Thank you for being just who you ARE!

Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2025. There is no statewide voting scheduled in Illinois this day. Illinois holds its major general elections in November of even-numbered years. While there will be no federal or state elections, some local units of government have specific filing deadlines around that time. You can, however, still participate in prayer. ALL elections are crucial these days. It is our prayer that God will touch the hearts and minds of ALL who will vote on Tuesday. Now, more than ever, we must be very strategic in our voting selections.*

The Tabernacle

Pastor Mario and the Men’s ministry have studied “The Tabernacle of Moses”. If you would like to learn more about this tent in the wilderness and its related activities, see Pastor Mario Jenkins.

Thank you to Pastor Cynthia Thomas for facilitating the CAMF workshop “Planning with Purpose: Preparing for Life’s Final Chapter” We extend our thanks to the panel guests Dondieneita Simmons, Linda Mitchell and Debbie Parks for a timely and informative information. We are grateful for the participation of several churches that were represented, our church family and guests.

Save the Dates:
Paper Shredding Event, November 7, 2025 (See enclosed flyer for details).

Mass Blackout, November 25th – December 2nd. This is anticipated to be the largest economic blackout protest in U.S. History! Prepare now for the moment…NO work (if you can abstain); No spending; No restaurants; No projects; No events; No Restaurants; No backing out!! To prevent “spike spending” before and after the blackout, we are asked that all participants purchase goods needed from community-owned stores and markets leading up to and after the dates. This helps with sustained impact. This coordinated national pushback is not being sponsored by the Langley Ave. Church of God.
