A Message From Pastor Cynthia Thomas:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we gather to celebrate Christmas, we reflect on the extraordinary gift God gave the world: His Son, Jesus. In a world that often feels dark or uncertain, the Christmas story brings us an enduring message of hope, reminding us that “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it” (John 1:5). Jesus, the Babe of Bethlehem, is our ultimate hope, the Way, the Truth, and the Resurrection.

Yes, we have come to the end of a very challenging year, BUT the light of Christ still shines amidst the darkness of this world. This is the cause of our joy and hope as we get ready to celebrate the birth of Christ. We will celebrate because no matter what may be happening in the world, we have a hope in Christ and we will join the angels in song on Christmas Eve when we celebrate the birth of our Messiah. God himself comes to intervene in our history in order to definitively set things right.

May we be a people of faith and joy that rejoices in the light and hope that our savior brings. This light truly does shine in a world full of darkness, and this light must penetrate our hearts. We are called to be the light of Jesus to the world, so that one person at a time, one soul at a time, we can start bringing that light to a world that so desperately needs it.

This season, let us remember that Christ came to bring abundant life, love, and peace. He calls us to be reflections of His light and love to others, extending grace and kindness in our homes, communities, and world.

I am deeply grateful for each of you—our volunteers, families, and dedicated members who are the heart of our church. Your faith, generosity, and commitment to serving Christ make our church a true family of faith, a place where God’s presence is felt.

May the presence of the Christ-Child fill your homes with wonder, joy, and peace this Christmas and throughout the coming year. May we all embrace the gift of Jesus and share His message of salvation with everyone we meet. On behalf of the Langley Avenue Church of God, I pray that you and your family have a Blessed Christmas and a grace filled New Year.

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
In His Love,
Pastor Cynthia Thomas
