It’s Women’s History Month! This month we celebrate ALL women! We welcome the arrival of spring and the transition of changing weather and longer days, and we celebrate International Women’s Day.

Beloved Church, As we complete these 40 days of fasting and praying, we thank God for meeting us in prayer, repentance and surrender. In scripture, 40 days marked preparation and transformation—as seen in the life of Jesus Christ (Matthew 4:1-2). What God has begun in us, He will continue.

“Is this not the fast that I have chosen..to break every yoke?” – Isaiah 58:6

Let us not return to old patterns, but walk forward renewed, disciplined, and expectant.

The fast may be ending, but the fire must continue.

“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” – Isaiah 40:31

We will look forward to the will of the Lord manifesting in our lives during the year. He will lead us and we will follow. — Psalm 32:8

Women’s History Month.* Women don’t always get the credit they deserve, but many have paved the way for numerous others as authors, activists, entertainers, businesspeople, scientists and so much more. And they continue to do so.

Whether you’re feeling uninspired or simply want to be reminded of just how amazing women are, here are 125 famous influential women in history!

March 8** is International Women’s Day, which is a day that not only celebrates the achievements of women and the progress made toward women’s rights but also brings attention to ongoing struggles for equality around the world. We are grateful for women, who have sacrificed and made a difference in our world!

African American Women Christian Leaders***
In honor of March, we are spotlighting influential African American Christian leaders each Sunday. Today’s focus is on two trailblazing women whose contributions have blessed believers everywhere. They are- Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie: The first woman elected as bishop in the 213-year history of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in 2000, serving as a trailblazer for women in ministry; and Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray (1910–1985): First African American woman ordained as an Episcopal priest (1977).

Announcements:
During Black History Month, we celebrated our leader, our beloved Pastor Cynthia Thomas for her 13 years of serving at Langley Avenue and her continued legacy. Her 30 years of service in ministry is remarkable and a gift from the Lord. Pastor you are both fruit of that history and seed for the future. Congratulations on receiving the esteem honor as Elder from the Illinois General Assembly of the Church of God. “The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor” – 1 Timothy 5:17. Today, we honor the honor bestowed.

The Chicagoland Area Ministers Fellowship (CAMF) 2026 Spring Worship will be held on April 26, 2026! The theme of this year’s Unity Service is: We Are One, John 17:21. Our Guest Speaker is the Rev. Dr. Horace Sheppard, Jr. The service will be held at Langley Ave Church of God, 6159 S. Langley Avenue, Chicago, Il 60637. You don’t want to miss this spirit filled service. Early Voting for the March 17th Primary Election starts in Downtown Chicago on Thursday, February 12th and Early Voting in all 50 Wards begins March 2nd! Take a look at your options and make plans to exercise your right to vote. Support the Young Adult Chorale as they host a Bake Sale Fundraiser, Sunday, March 15th immediately following morning service, in the lower level. There will be sugar free and vegan products available for purchase. Funds raised will support youth activities.
