Reflections:
Women’s History Month: Today we highlight Dr Neema Kaseje, Surgeon at Médecins Sans Frontiéres (MSF) and Founder of Surgical Systems Research Group, Young Global Leader.
Dr Neema Kaseje is a medical surgeon working on the frontlines in Siaya, Kenya, to curb the COVID-19 pandemic and provide equitable youth opportunities in the region. Amid the pandemic, Dr Kaseje realized adequate training and building capacity, for both hospital and community healthcare workers needed to exist, to close the gap in cases there. By providing a comprehensive approach, her organization trained 1,300 healthcare workers to support minor and advanced COVID-19 patients. By leveraging technology, they could digitize processes to get real-time data to help make informed policy decisions and take immediate action to curb the pandemic. Dr Kaseje could be living in a comfortable part of the world, but chose to make her impact much more significant. “It’s hard to make an impact in your comfort zone,” she told me. “Push boundaries with those who need it the most.”***
Ask God to help you out of your comfort zone. Push your boundaries by helping someone you would ordinarily not help. Step out on faith! Watch God use you for His glory!

Facing Challenges During the Journey: A letter from Sis. Jessye G. Payne
As a woman of GOD, I have enjoyed over sixty (60) years of my Christian Journey here at the Langley Avenue Church of God serving in many capacities. The Journey has not always been smooth but challenging and (as we believe) ultimately rewarding.
During my journey, I have been blessed to travel to six (6) of the seven (7) continents in the world. This great experience allowed me the privilege of seeing a beautiful rainbow majestically set over the cascading water of Victoria Falls in South Africa, the stately snow capped mountain of Kilimanjaro and the Great Barrier Reefs in Australia. I was also given the opportunity to teach phonics in a remote community located In the Dominican Republic and have visited many other communities.
My passion in serving GOD and his people thus GOD gave me the vision to develop Project Care-LACOG food pantry. I served as the Director for over 18 wonderful years. Through this ministry we have prayed with and for many families in addition to providing food and clothing to those in need. Several current members of our congregation were brought to the LORD as a result of this ministry. We enjoyed studying, applying and sharing God’s word. My desire is to serve God In whatever manner the LORD leads. The LORD has blessed me with a long life in which I am fulfilled and content; thus I am at peace with myself. I encourage all young women to keep in touch with GOD’S cell (Jeremiah 33:3) and you will enjoy a beautiful and fulfilled life. Remember, “Prayer is the ultimate wireless communication”. And I leave you with this thought: Happiness is like jam…you can’t spread even a little, without getting some on yourself.
Proverbs 31:26
“She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”
