Reflections:
Women’s History Month: Today we highlight Kathy A. Jefferies.**
Kathy was a kept woman — kept by the love, grace, mercy, and peace of God. If you ever were in conversation with Kathy, you know that most of it was about the goodness of the Lord, the keeper of her soul. In an interview with the author she shared how for a time, she had left the church — in her radical, “Black Power” days — leaving behind organized religion. As she shared about all the experiences she had while living that life, what stuck out to me was the part about how God raised up people, especially one church mother named Ms. Callie Crowder, who never gave up on her. She said, “Pastor, it was people like Ms. Callie Crowder and others who helped me see that God wanted to use me in his kingdom, that God had not given up on me, and that even while I was out of the church God was keeping me! I came back into the church, and I’ve never looked back.” More…
Poem: A Kept Woman (Author Unknown)
I am a Kept Woman. You see there were times when I thought I would lose my mind, but GOD kept me sane. There were times when I thought I couldn’t go on no longer, but GOD kept me moving. At times, I wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me wrong, but GOD kept my mouth shut. Sometimes I think the money just isn’t enough, but GOD helped me keep the lights on, the water on, rent paid, etc. When I thought I would fall GOD kept me up. When I was weak GOD kept me strong! I could go on and on and on, but I’m sure you hear me! I am blessed to be (kept)! Are you, or do you know a (kept) woman? If so, pass this on to her and let her know she is kept! I’m kept by the Love and Grace of GOD!! ***
2 Corinthians 8:7 “But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also.”
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Stay prayerful and read the following daily:

Isaiah 40:31
