This week we will learn about a phenomenal women Bernice Johnson Reagon (1942-), Shay Dawson, NWHM Predoctoral Fellow in Gender Studies l 2022-2024**
Bernice Johnson Reagon is a renowned composer, historian, musician, and activist. She is also credited with founding Sweet Honey in the Rock, an all-female and all-Black acapella group. Much of her work centers around Black identity and social justice and many of her musical projects highlight the Civil Rights Era. For more information about Ms. Reagon, click here.
