Prayer Focus: The prayer focus for the month of August is the following: 1. The opening of schools; 2. The elimination of COVID-19; and 3. A prayer against the violence in Chicago. “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). Join us as we focus, together, on these requests.

Young Adults Community Ministry. On July 30th, our faithful young adults shopped, set up and lovingly welcomed our neighbors to the giveaway table. Some neighbors asked for prayer and it was simply a blessing to witness. May the Lord richly bless our young adults as they serve God through community outreach.
Congratulations, Graduate! We congratulate Jordan Marie Hillman, who graduated from Griffith High School in Griffith, IN. She will be attending Valparaiso University on a full-ride scholarship. We celebrate with her proud grandparents, Deacons George and Toni Hillman. Jordan, the sky is the limit!!
Reflection: God’s Promise Is Enough***
When Jerry proposed to me, I begged God to make his plan clear. How could I know if marrying Jerry was God’s will? I prayed desperately as I walked around town, sometimes even speaking out loud as I searched for the answer. If God knew I might make the worst mistake of my life, why wouldn’t he tell me plainly what I should do?
“Leave your country and your people,” God told Abraham, “and go to the land I will show you.” If God promised to show Abraham the way, it meant God would be on the journey with him. All Abraham needed to do was listen to the directions and obey.
On that day I stopped short in the middle of my prayer walk and relinquished my need to see God’s road map. I choose to trust his promise and stop worrying. Then I called Jerry and told him yes!
Where might you need to take a step of faith? Read Acts 7:2-7.
Stay prayerful and read the following daily:
Isaiah 26:3 – “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 –“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Psalm 32:8 –“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”
Exodus 14:14 -“”The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
